1965 Ford Mustang Fastback

Auctioned on Saturday, April 8, 2006

Sold at $36,380

This is an original GT packaged car that was treated to a three-year restoration that was completed in June 2004. It was completely stripped to the bare uni-frame then rebuilt. The engine is a matching numbers A-code 289 cu. in. V8 built to K-code specifications while retaining its stock appearance. A set of rebuilt Rally-Pac gauges with 8,000rpm tachometer is mounted to the steering column. The manual transmission is a Borg-Warner four-speed with a Hurst shifter for more precise shifting. It has a rack and pinion steering kit for much tighter steering and better road feel – the original system is included in the sale of the car. The rear end is an eight-inch Ford with a ratio of 3.50:1 and Positraction. The red interior was completely refinished with new seat covers, door panels, carpet, handles, and instrument bezels. This is a rare opportunity to own a stunning and reliable fastback “Pony” car.
